Thanks for leading the way and sharing about it. I stuck it out with my version of your YouTube channel, I tried every way to fix the business ans my attitude towards it like you did with dentistry, so I get how you feel about leaving something that on the surface is working.

So glad this resonated! How do you feel about your decision looking back now?

Good question. I have moments when I wish I'd changed direction 5-10 years ago when I was getting those urges to, but also that online business brought a lot of freedom and has allowed me to spend a lot of time with my kids while they're young and to live outside of the city in an area with really love. So I guess overall I'm grateful and excited I still get to make a change of direction in my work now.

This was such an insightful read Akta. Your reasons make perfect sense, especially with keeping your daughter and her privacy in mind.

I started Substack earlier this year as a holding space, so that I could have thoughts clear enough to eventually turn into YouTube videos. This is a first go at it under my own name, after having grown personal brands for other people professionally.

All of what you have outlined, I have kept in mind as I intentionally build—hopefully being as intentional and strategic as your creator friend's smaller channel. Thank you for sharing your experiences!

Thank you so much, that really means a lot. I love that you’re using Substack as a space to find your voice before turning it into video - it sounds like you’re being incredibly thoughtful with how you’re approaching it :) wishing you all the best with your channel

Found you on youtube and love that you're on Substack. Everything you talk kept me out of the online world for a long time. But the tide is turning and I love that people like you are setting the pace for slower, soul-calling!
